18th of september has passed, and with that fiestas patrias. That means that we won't have more choripanes and anticuchos to eat, nor terremotos to drink.
However, we have the memories of our national holiday to enjoy.
On September 18th I was at my farm in Melipilla (which by the way means 'four devils'), with my mother and her brother. we got up early to prepare the party: while my mom prepared the meat for the fire, my uncle and I served some chips and crackers with 'pebre', and some alcoholics drinks like 'pisco sour' and 'piscola'.
Then my relatives started to arrive.
Uncle Pato with his girlfriend brought wine and a pie. Aunt Leticia helped with the salads. And my cousin Carolina came with her boyfriend from Isla de Pascua (also know as Rapa Nui), and he brought sawfish and real tuna from there, then prepared them as they do on his island. Didn't like tuna that much but sierra was exquisite.
The afternoon went quite calm. We chatted and joked, took photos (and selfies too of course).
Then, at the evening everyone started to go back to Santiago, and we ended us three (my mom, uncle and I) alone at the house.
We got back to the city on suday morning.
On the afternoon that day I got to see my dad. We talked a lot while we where on the car, deciding what to do. It was late so we couldn't go to a fonda to pass the time, so we went to the cinema. We watched 'The Maze Runner 2', and I really enjoyed it, not just because of the movie, but because my dad got really scared and jumped everytime there was a scary part.
I really enjoyed my fiestas patrias with my family.
Thank you for reading!
